Tonia Vassilopoulou was born in Athens-Greece .

She received Bachelor in International Business Administration, Cum Laude from the American University of Paris in 2001 and continued her Postgraduate studies in Hospitality Management at Glion Hotel School in Switzerland from where she graduated with Distinction in 2002.

 

Since then, she has been working as the Marketing Director for the family business in Greece, a 5 star boutique hotel  located in the center of Athens www.sglycabettus.gr and a summer lifestyle hotel at the island of Andros in the Aegean Sea www.paradiseandros.gr.

In 2003 she launched ‘Frame’ bar-restaurant which attracted the discerning, sophisticated young Athenian crowd and was quoted among others as "one of the most interesting arrivals in the entertaining business" (Wallpaper magazine).

In 2005 she initiated the opening of ‘Sensia’ spa and gym studio and ‘Afternoon’ boutique with a collection of clothes and accessories of upcoming young Greek designers.

She was also involved in the revamp of the roof top restaurant ‘Le Grand Balcon’ which was awarded with the Toques D’Or  gastronomic award for three consecutive years 2007-9 and organized numerous gastronomic, art, fashion and music events.

 

In 2009 she created the ‘Suite Home’ hospitality concept in Paris by buying , renovating and renting a suite style apartment and offering hospitality services to its guests managed by local companies.In 2010 Suite Home Mykonos and Suite Home St. Moritz followed.

She travels extensively and has her own ‘Hotelier Expert’ column in Icons Travellers magazine www.icons-travellers.gr where she suggests unique hotels to the readers. Her articles have also appeared in Athinorama Travel www.athinorama.gr/travel and Saintg magazine.

She is also an active member of The Greek Tourism Business Association and public relations ephor of the Athens Hospitality Association.
